| My fourth term introduced me to Quark Express. This program is a staple in the world of print media. Many books and magazines have been created using Quark. While there are some drawing capabilities built into Quark, this is not what it was intended for. Quark is a layout program. It gives you the ability to take all of those wonderful projects that have been created in programs like Photoshop, and Illustrator, and to lay them out so that they can be sent to the printers in a pre-designated format, to be shared with the whole world. Because Quark deals with printing, I also learned more about the difference between RGB color and CYMK color. The printing world uses CYMK. I had learned about the different color systems in my first term, but this class helped drive the difference home. |

| This Brochure is designed to fold in a "Z" type fashion which connects the two halves of the cup. It is designed to be a take-home menu of the coffees that are sold at the cafe. |

| This is the cover page for a five-page layout that I did for my final project. The project had to contain a cover, table of contents, a full-page ad, and a two-page article. In case you hadn't noticed, my involvement with the Boy Scouts has once again given me the topic for my project. The cover photo was one taken by one of the boys in our troop during one of our hikes. |
